Meetings

       The St. Cecilia Society meets once a month from October through May providing an opportunity for members and guest artists to perform. Meetings are held on Fridays at 1:00 PM or 7:00 PM or Sundays at 2:00 PM. Times vary to try to make it convenient for all to attend several meetings each year. Except in May when a luncheon follows the annual membership meeting and precedes the final performance of the year, receptions follow the performances where members and guests may greet the performers and enjoy refreshments.

       The “performing members” at the regular meetings are St. Cecilia members who have auditioned before paid judges who are not St. Cecilia Society members.

       The programs are open to the public.

The Wm. C. Byrd Young Artist Competition Review

Winner:

       Youngmi Kim, Soprano

Youngi Kim received a Bachelor of Music degree from Ewha Women's University in Seoul, Korea in 2000. Miss Kim completed a Master of Music degree at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music  in 2003 where she is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in voice. Miss Kim will perform with the Flint Symphony Orchestra on April 17, 2011.

The next Byrd Competition will be held on March 5, 2011 and will feature piano.
