Student Music Awards
Established in 1897, the Student Music Awards continue to benefit young musicians to this day. Each year, nearly $6,000 is awarded to talented students in 1st -12th grades.
WHEN: Saturday, January 31, 2026
WHERE: Flint Institute of Music
WHO: All music students, 1st – 12th grades, who study voice, piano, organ, accordion, strings, guitar, woodwind instruments, brass instruments, or percussion are eligible. Students are not required to be a member of SCSM.
APPLICATION AVAILABLE: Starting in October, applications can be found at all SCSM meetings with the counselors, or at the FSPA office. Applications will be accepted December 1, 2025 – January 17, 2026. For more information, please speak with an SCSM counselor. Download an application form.
AWARDS CONCERT DATE: SCS Student Award winners will perform at the recital on Sunday, February 22, 2026, MacArthur Recital Hall (FIM).
