Established in 1897, the Student Music Awards continue to benefit young musicians to this day. Each year, nearly $6,000 is awarded to talented students in 1st -12th grades.

WHEN: Saturday, January 30, 2027

WHERE: Flint Institute of Music

WHO: All music students, 1st – 12th grades, who study voice, piano, organ, accordion, strings, guitar, woodwind instruments, brass instruments, or percussion are eligible. Students are not required to be a member of St. Cecilia Student Musicale.

APPLICATION AVAILABLE: Starting in October, applications can be found at all SCSM meetings with the counselors, or at the FSPA office. Applications will be accepted later in 2026. For more information, please speak with an SCSM counselor.

AWARDS CONCERT DATE: SCS Student Award winners will perform at the recital on Sunday, February 21, 2026, MacArthur Recital Hall (FIM).
